Default Please Fix Rend Enchantments (among other things)

Rend Enchantments is ridiculously overpowered in its current state. Strip all enchantments from a target, without having to spec any attributes at all, every 20 seconds. And it's not even elite. It is the main reason why the current GvG meta is the way that it is. The other two reasons are turret rangers, and fc water mesmers.

Because rend enchantments and turret rangers exist the way they are right now, teams can load up tons upon tons of defense into their builds, because these two things + 2 warriors is almost all of the damage you need to kill. Besides these three offensive characters, the other 5 characters in the build can be almost entirely defensive. Rend enchantments facilitates the fact that you can have an incredibly clean spike, while investing very little into offensive skills and investing extremely heavily into defensive skills. This is not the way the game should be.

To be able to kill a character, teams should have to sacrifice defense for offense. This is not the case, as is evident by the current meta. The ability to have that much defense in a build, while still being able to make incredibly easy kills on targets, needs to be fixed. Therefore, Rend Enchantments needs to be fixed, as do turret rangers who just put out WAY more damage than they should be able to. The fix for turret rangers, or a start at least, would be to change Hunter's Shot back to a regular cast time, as being able to have two followup damage attacks in front of BA/sloths is way too much damage in a small amount of time. The other change would be to nerf read the wind.

Fc water mesmers are way too powerful as a template as well, being able to have snares, blurred, and blind all on the same uninterruptable bar is well beyond the scope of what any elementalist could ever do. Either nerf Steam, or nerf fast casting on non-mesmer skills.

So please fix GvG before it becomes even less fun than it already is.

i do admit rend is a bit OPed, the damage from it is sorta balancing it but not enough. FC mesmers definitely needs to be nerfed, im sure they intended people to use both the glyph and steam together otherwise they wouldnt invent that skill when you can basically do the same with immolate, but that doesnt excuse the fact that there too OPed

Rend is OP, you sac a lot of health, it has a reasonable recharge as well. And youre saying GvG is not fun made me lol @ you, since I had SO MUCH FUN TODAY playing the MAT and the following AT. The last match was so INSANE. Well, back to the topic, rend doesn't need a fix. Neither do turrets, they're not OP anymore (they used to be).

rend is the way it is because of the old school UW farmers. needs to strip shadow form then the SC crap will be over and i'll be happy.

maybe give Rend Ench a PvP nerf and leave it for PvE.

Change all the 1s bow attacks into 1/2s with 1.25 aftercast like savage shot. They do their conditional function better but won't spike for anything.

Who are you asking? Izzy? The guy who buffed it in the first place? Last I checked, a) he doesn't mind that there are a billion good enchant removals and almost no good hex removals (compared to the number of stackable hexes anyway), and b) he doesn't give a rat's ass about this game anyway. People who say he does care, or "he's too busy on GW2" are lying to themselves. His wiki page is a joke. Any post not giving his ego a virtual blowjob is just moved or deleted. He broke this game and then abandoned it. Don't hold your breath.

the reason why the damage you take for using it doesnt balance the skill is because unless you are under severe pressure taking random damage when you arent being spiked is virtually harmless

i would suggest that instead of health loss you lose energy per enchant? and include non monk enchantments maybe?

Recharge needs to go to at least 30 secs, 45 would probably be best.

Does Izzy even bother reading these threads? And consider it? I just bought guild wars and I can already tell this game has one of the worst GvG (due to the four-core classes only and their ridiculous elite skills such as "warrior's endurance" that can make other classes useless) I experienced. I hope things like what the OP said would be considered and fix up the GvG. Guild wars is leaving bad impression and because it's like the way it is, I don't have much expectation for Guild wars 2. I only bought this game so late because of the Hall of monument being able to transfer to Guild Wars 2 but I'm not even planning on buying this unbalanced game anymore (which I assume it'll be similar to Guild wars series).

I'll add other ridiculous skill that needs to be fixed.

We all know izzy screwed up. Most of his retarded buffs had to be reverted in the past and some of them are still destroying the game (WoH).
Some ppl say skill balancing is hard and defend izzy. Well these ppl either got invited to some kind of testing server having endless rows of data at their disposal or have nothing to say to the topic.

Ppl who like competitive pvp are going to buy gw2 no matter what. It is the only hope that left for them (who knows... maybe aion, spellborn or mortal online will surprise us).
